Saints or Colts?

We have a new addition to our classroom! Meet Bella, our new TAP student! TAP is a program that allows high school students to intern at elementary schools. Bella is a high school senior who runs track and cross country. She was a TAP student in a fifth grade classroom before coming to us and wants to be a teacher! We are so glad to have her in Peterson's Planetarium. :)
The big discussion in our classroom this week was who will win Super Bowl XLIV. On Friday, we took a vote and the results are in...twenty students think the Saints will win and four plus one teacher think the Colts will win. We will find out soon, won't we?!
This week, we also celebrated our marble party. The class earns marbles for good behavior and when the jar is filled, their reward is a celebration party. This time, the kids voiced that they wanted an electronic pajama party with a movie. The kids enjoyed the afternoon watching James and the Giant Peach in their pajamas while playing their handheld electronics. Way to go Second and Third Graders!

Ava was our Star of the Week. We will conduct her survey question next week. Ava learned a lot while she read space books with Snoopy. She decided to share her learnings on a tri-fold poster. Check it out below!

Wow, that was some party.

I am writing this comment before the "big game," but I just have to say that I want the Colts to win, even though I have no prediction!

With love from Mrs. Peterson's friend who is married to a man from Indianapolis :)
